Community Guidelines
Random chat only works when both people feel fine pressing start. These house rules apply to every OpenTalk match, private call, live room and message. Breaking them can cost you features or the whole account.
What we want more of
- Saying hello like you would to a person at a party, not a vending machine.
- Skipping politely. Next is always allowed and needs no explanation.
- Using the translate button instead of giving up on someone who writes in another language.
- Reporting problems rather than arguing with them.
What gets removed
- Anyone under 18, or content that involves minors in any way. We report this to the authorities.
- Nudity, sexual acts or sexual requests aimed at people who did not ask for them.
- Hate, threats, bullying or mocking someone for how they look, sound or where they come from.
- Recording, screenshotting or sharing someone without their permission.
- Spam and advertising, pushing people toward outside apps, begging for cash, and romance or crypto schemes.
- Pretending to be someone else, including staff of OpenTalk.
- Violence, self-harm shown as entertainment, or anything illegal where you or the other person live.
How reporting works
Every match, private call and live room has a report button. Use it and then press next; you do not have to stay to prove anything. Moderators review reports and can warn, restrict or remove the account involved. More on this lives on the safety page.
Appeals
Believe a restriction landed on you unfairly? Send [email protected] your nickname plus the approximate date. Appeals are read by staff, not bots.
