OpenTalk is for people aged 18 and over. That applies to random matches, private calls, live rooms and messages alike. If someone on your screen looks or sounds like a minor, do not keep talking to be polite. Report the chat and move on; accounts that belong to minors are closed, and anything involving a child is treated as the most serious kind of report we get.

There is a report button in every random match, private call and live room. Tap it, pick the reason that fits, and press next. You do not need to argue, collect proof or wait around; the report carries what moderators need to take a look.

Moderators review reports and decide what fits: a warning, limits on certain features, a suspension or closing the account for good. Serious cases, anything involving minors above all, are removed immediately and handed to police or regulators whenever the law says we must. We do not tell the reported person who reported them.

You also do not have to judge how serious it was before you tap. Choose the closest reason and let moderators weigh it up. A report that turns out to be minor costs you nothing, while one that never gets sent helps nobody.

Live rooms have a busier mood than a private chat, with typed messages scrolling, gifts arriving and a prize wheel spinning. The rules do not change, though. Every room has its own report button, the same house rules cover what is said and shown there, and moderators review room reports just as they review reports from random matches and private calls. And if a room makes you uneasy, one swipe carries you straight into a different one.

Take a second to look at what the camera sees. Mail with your address, a school or work badge, the view from a window you would recognise anywhere: these give away more than people expect. Choose a nickname other than your real first and last name, and remember the match card already tells people your country, so there is no need to add a city or a street.

On evenings when showing your face feels like too much, voice or text chat keeps the camera off entirely. You can change mode before every match, so a night can start in text and move to camera only once you feel at ease.

Most trouble in random chat looks alike. A new friend quickly wants to move to another app. A sad story turns into a request for money, a gift card or a code sent to your phone. Someone insists you send gifts to prove you care. Any of these is a reason to stop, report and press next. Offers of free coins, coin hacks or modded versions of OpenTalk belong in the same pile.

Safety includes your wallet. OpenTalk never starts a paid private call without enough coins in your balance; if you are short, you see the top-up screen first and decide from there. Gifts in calls and live rooms ask you to confirm before they are sent. Nobody on the other side can take coins from you, so anyone who claims they need your login to send you coins is lying.

Respect runs both ways. Recording or screenshotting someone without their consent breaks the house rules, and the same protection covers your face and voice when you are the one on camera.

Most bad chats end the moment you press next. If someone threatens you, tries to blackmail you or seems to know more about you than they should, report the account and email support with their nickname and an approximate time. If you feel physically unsafe, bring in the police where you live too. Our team can act on the account, and the police can act on the person.

Mistakes happen on both sides of a report. If your account was warned, limited or suspended and you believe it was wrong, tell support calmly what you think happened. Include your nickname and the rough date. A person reviews every appeal, and a restriction that turns out to be a mistake is lifted.
