Privacy Policy

OpenTalk at opentalk.cam is a chat service, so a certain amount of information has to move through it for a match to happen at all. Below you will find what that information is, why OpenTalk holds on to it, and which requests about it you are entitled to make. Questions go to [email protected].

Information that passes through OpenTalk

  • Account basics: your nickname, the sign-in method or email you picked, the age you confirmed and preferences such as display language.
  • Profile extras you add yourself (a picture, a short bio) together with your OpenTalk follows and followers.
  • Whatever you type: lines written mid-match, comments dropped into live rooms, and private back-and-forth messages.
  • Records of each match or call: the time, the length and whether it ran on video, voice or text.
  • Your coin balance, VIP status, gifts sent and the receipts our payment partners return to us. Full card numbers never reach our servers.
  • Reports, both the ones you file and the ones filed against your account, plus any notes moderators jot down while handling them.
  • Technical bits: which browser and device you use, the approximate region your IP address points to, and crash or error logs.

Your camera and microphone

Your picture and sound stream live to your match and nowhere else by default; routine calls are not archived. Once somebody reports a session, OpenTalk moderators can check what belongs to it, such as captured frames or chat text, to judge whether the rules were broken.

Your browser controls camera and microphone permission. You can withdraw it in the browser settings at any moment; video and voice matching simply stop working until you allow it again.

Why we use it

  • To run matching, show the match card and keep the next button responsive.
  • To translate typed messages when you press the translate button.
  • To make sure coins, VIP and preferences show up wherever you sign in.
  • To review reports, remove accounts that break the community guidelines and stop the same people coming back.
  • To fix bugs and understand which parts of OpenTalk people actually use.

Who else touches it

We do not sell personal information. Hosting companies, payment processors, translation and moderation tools handle parts of it for us under contracts that limit them to that job. We share details with authorities only when the law requires it or when someone faces a real risk of harm.

How long it stays and how to remove it

We keep account information while the account is open. Moderation and payment records can outlive a closed account for a period, because fraud checks and legal duties need them.

Want your data exported, corrected, or the whole account wiped? Write to [email protected]. Sending it from the email on the account, or mentioning your nickname, helps us check the request really comes from you.

Adults only

Nobody under 18 may use OpenTalk. Accounts we discover belonging to younger users are shut and their data removed as far as possible.
